Who I Am and I Do
With a background in Gerontology (BA) and currently pursuing an MSW, I am committed to supporting older adults in maintaining their independence through my role as a Professional Organizer.
What is the role of a Gerontologist?
A gerontologist is a professional who specializes in studying the aging process and its impact on individuals, families, and society. The primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for older adults by developing strategies and solutions to address their unique needs.
My educational journey led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Gerontology from San Diego State University. During my studies, I had the opportunity to complete an internship with Alzheimer's San Diego, where I served as a
Virtual Intern
Companion, providing respite care.
Even after graduation, I continued my involvement by volunteering for non-profit organizations like:
Alzheimer’s San Diego
Peer Support Network.
Currently, I am furthering my education and expertise by pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a specialization in Administration and Community Development at San Diego State University.
With a strong educational foundation and valuable field experience, I possess the knowledge and skills necessary to assist older adults in accessing the resources they need to successfully age in place.
One of the first crucial steps in helping seniors age in place is creating an organized and clutter-free living environment. I offer my expertise in:
Decluttering and organizing spaces to promote simplicity and functionality.
Downsizing and transitioning to a smaller living space.
Organizing and arranging belongings.
Sort, categorize, and remove unwanted.
Arrange for donations or disposal of unwanted belongings.
Create storage solutions to maximize available space.
Throughout the decluttering process, I offer emotional support and understanding, recognizing the challenges that may arise during this transition. My aim is to ensure that older adults have a comfortable and well-organized living space that supports their desire to age in place gracefully and independently.
